Sayid died then was brought back to life and claimed by the monster, and when that happened he lost his humanity. He got it back as the season went on. Also sayid May have done terrible things but non of them were for selfish reasons. What Michael did was selfish. Because it wasn’t just to help Walt at all, it was for him to get off the island.
